I bought 12 place settings of this dinnerware many years ago. I love the brown/cream color of this dishware. I had major problems with the dinner plates and saucers from my previous purchase as most of them broke down the middle after developing long cracks. I suppose I got a bad batch, over or under cooked or something. That is why I have taken away one star from my rating. Anyway, I decided to try this brand again and so far they are holding up well. I hope the plates and saucers last a lot longer than my previous sets. Time will tell I guess.Love these dishes! Needed replacements for pieces that have been broke. Much more economical buying a whole set vs just the pieces broke. :)One of the cups was damaged . I would have given a better rating if not for the broken cupThe photos and description of this dinnerware are accurate. The boxes came on time and were very well packaged, so no breakage. I'm happy.The dishes don't hold up for continuous high heat dishwasher cleaning. They get fracturing and soon after break. Not sure how they would hold up under "normal" usage. Dishes used at a beach rental.Nice set of dishes. Not really a 4, though; perhaps 3.5, but this is personal preference. What warranted the rating was that the color seems to be different for each set of items. The dinner plates - which are huge, are a dark red/brown, but much darker than the salad plates, which are reddish/light brown. The cups are missing some of the beige coloring near the handle on two of the four cups. The glaze over it merely accentuates that color is missing making it a beige/gray look. Not pleased with this, but I have other coffee mugs that I adore, so these will not be a first choice for serving coffee, or hot chocolate. Overall, not a bad set of dishes. This is the price for shopping online. You don't get to see what you are getting until it has arrived.Needed a set to replace/match broken (couple) plates in my original settings. I was concerned that these would not "really" match. They did - no difference.Picked up a set on Amazon because Macy's doesn't carry it anymore, and we needed four more place settings. Everything came packed very well, and not a single dish was cracked or damaged. I'm not sure what people are thinking when they say these are fragile...to me these dishes are pretty heavy duty and we use them when we have guests. If you can't handle these kind of dishes without breaking them, maybe you need to be using Corelle. Very pretty set, although I wish they sold a bowl that was bigger than the one provided. Macy's had a "completer" set that had one much larger bowl, a larger serving plate, and sugar bowl and gravy boat. Haven't been able to find a place that sells the larger bowls separately. Yes they're made in China. Not much isn't nowadays.
