I love these beautiful dishes! They are very well made and are about twice as heavy as a Corelle plate, which happens to be exactly what I wanted - that weight. Sometimes we like to eat in front of the TV during the news, and Corelle will slide right out of your lap onto the floor. Not so with these plates; they aren't too heavy, not too light, and they are just right.I also ordered the salad plates, and I'm so glad I did. I've already run them through the dishwasher, and they did just fine. No problems whatsoever. These plates are made of strong stuff, and the pattern is beautiful and unique. Not something you're going to see at the local discount stores.These plates are light enough for small children to use and heavy enough that they don't slip and slide or otherwise cause an accident.These dishes also did great in the microwave, but I haven't put them in the oven. They seem sturdy enough to withstand oven heat, but I just haven't tried that yet. It's good to know you can warm them in a low oven, though.I'm very impressed with these dishes, especially at this price. They are definitely a good value for your money and are very pretty. I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a good, thick but not too heavy plate.
