I wish I could give 4.5 stars, as I do have one complaint. But first the good.I've only had this a couple of months, but I've already ground about 30 pounds of meat in five grinding sessions so far. I've used it for a couple of purposes. I have used it to make food to supplement my cats' diets due to how expensive cat food has gotten. I can make them cat food for about 1/3 of the price of buying the cans, so they are currently getting about a 50/50 ratio of their normal food and their newly ground beef and chicken. Boy, do they love me now.Funny how neither of them would touch it at first. Cat number one took one sniff and yelled at me. Cat number two actually ate all of the normal food and left the ground chicken. I left it out for a couple of hours, and they had picked away a bit.On day two, it started out similarly, but the food did disappear eventually. Now, they eat it all in one sitting and promptly remind me every eleven and a half hours that meal time is coming up. I estimate it will take about a year for me to make back the money I spent on this in saved cat food expenses. It also works great for hamburger, which is the primary reason I wanted one. For a single guy, a 16 ounce package of hamburger from the grocery store is exactly the wrong size. I pack them in 12 ounce packages, and that suits my diet far better.I mix chuck to sirloin in about a 3 to 2 ratio to get burger that is the right mixture of fat for me. Also, since not all chucks are created the same, I'll oftentimes run into chucks that have far more or less fat. This will allow me to grind a leaner burger for stews and pasta dishes with a fattier burger for stuff like hamburgers or meat loaf.I don't save any money doing it this way, and it's not even about the flavor. It's all about the texture. Whereas store hamburgers tend to be really compact, I can control the grind on the burgers I grind at home. With store bought beef, it tends to be kind of sticky and wet to the touch. With the more coarsely ground beef I grind at home, I get something that is even sticker but dryer to the touch. This makes it easy to form patties loosely, and it does wonders in making the prefect sear. The bests part about it, though, is because so much moisture stayed in the meat rather than coating the outside of it, the actual hamburgers you cook will be a lot juicier. Plus, since the meat itself is less compact, that allows more of the yummy condiments to seep into the meat giving a more well-rounded flavor. This is probably the best value anyone will ever find on a meat grinder. I was disappointed, though, in how little of the product was actually stainless steel. I knew that there would be some alloy or aluminum stuff, but I was hoping most of the parts that came into direct contact with the food would actually be stainless steel. It turns out, only the cutting blades and the little screen that the blades push the meat through are made of stainless steel. The auger has a stainless steel rod, but the actual auger is the alloy material.Stainless steel is a miracle material in the kitchen. It resists corrosion, it resists pathogens, and it even transmits heat fairly well. Because these aren't stainless steel, I felt they needed to be washed in really hot soapy water for an extended period of time, and after five washes, the shiny metal is given away to a dull gray. I would knock off half a star for that, but that still rounds to a five.Couldn't be happier with the performance of this machine. Just make sure that you read the instructions as to which side of the blade faces out towards the grinder head. I had it on backwards and it got backed up, once I turned it around everything was perfect. I also noticed that the medium sized hole out feed cap is the fastest and doesn't get to stopped up.Only have used once, but so far I am very impressed. It is super easy to put together, operation is a breeze, clean was so easy also! Would recommend to cut your meat into one inch cubes a freeze for about an hour. Makes the grinding easier.Out of brisket we made sausage and ground beef for burgers so yummy. It was very easy to use and easy for clean upThis unit is powerful and you will be able to grind fast. The meat comes out nicely cut and I am pleased with this units performance.I purchased this meat grinder to make my own ground meats . It went through 5 lbs of boneless chicken in 3 min. I could barely keep up with the speed and ease it went through the chicken ?. Being it was my first try. I will update this review after I use it several times to see how it holds up. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend it.This is not a heavyweight machine but ideal for small domestic usageGrinding up pork and chicken to freezeThe listing says your can put all the metal parts that touch the meat on the dishwasher, but the product comes with a sticker that explicitly tells you not to. How can you clean some of these parts without a dishwasher?!Other than that, it grinds meat well but it's a little loud. Mine also has a wobble to the auger assembly when it's running which tells me that the electric motor in the base is probably not balanced. Not sure how long it'll last before it fails but at least I can make burgers againThe meat grinder looks nice, grinds well and is easy to clean after use. Assembling it is not so easy, as it requires aligning the hexagonal shaft end (image 2) with the hexagonal socket in the back end of the feed screw (image 3). The position of the head tube is strictly limited, so the feed screw has to be accessible for turning by hand to catch the shaft's end (image 4). After that the cutting blade and plate can be put in place and fixed with the fixing ring. Please make sure the grinder is not connected to the power grid at the assembly stage.Shipping was fast and parcel arrived well packaged to avoid any damage. Not that this tank could be damaged by some human. This thing will grind almost anything you can fit in it. We have done various meats, nuts and other things. Every time we use it we comment on how quiet, easy to clean and amazingly powerful it is especially considering the price you pay.Don't hesitate, buy it now.It is cheaply made as expected for this price. I thought the accessories were missing but they were lying at the very bottom of the box hidden underneath the styrofoam piece.Tip 1: cool the meat and the working parts of the grinder for a few hours in the fridge before use.Tip 2: when finished run 1 or 2 slices of toast bread through the grinder to clean the last of the meat out.For my occasional home use, the grinder is perfectly priced and does the job.It grinds meat up incredibly fast and I do love it although we got the largest casings and they didn't fit on the tube properly so we had to try to hold it on while stuffing them. It caused them to be overfilled and just explode while cooking. I'm hoping I can buy a separate tube that I can use with this. Other than that its great.
