These arrived in a well packed box and in mint condition. I can find no fault with the coloring or smoothness of the edges. I already have sets of the discontinued gold plates and thought these would make nice addition.I really wanted to love these plates because they were a perfect match color-wise to other dishes that I own. and teal is a hard color to match. My problem with them is not in the quality or appearance, in fact they are much more beautiful in person than in the photo. My issue is the size and the weight. They are almost like platter size more than they are a dinner plate, and they are so incredibly heavy that once laden with food it would be difficult to carry them, so they could be used for a sit down dinner only, not a buffet, which I do a lot of when I entertain. For these reasons, unfortunately I will be returning them and trying to find something that is more of a normal size and weight for a dinner plate.I had the canister set for a year and loved it. So after moving to a new house I decided to buy the dinnerware. I was surprised to see that it was not as pretty as the canisters but I’m still pleased with the set because of how sturdy and attractive they are.Bought these to replace some of my dishes that were showing wear. Had my original set a many years, the match was very close. My original set, & order is the cream color. Dishes are a great value.These are full sized dinner plates ,exactly what I was looking for. I will be buying more to replace an old set.This will sound odd to use the word beautiful to describe a piece of dinnerware, but the plates are that. Reviews called them heavy and they are. They are actually 11" , great for my needs. They were packed well too. Also I need to update. They are 11 1/2". I really want the salad plates... Got the bowls as well...huge for salad or pasta....lovely!!☺I am very hard on plates. I am so impressed with the durability of this stoneware. I have had these for 4 years and just added to my collection. The older plates look as good as the brand new ones! AmazingI had bought some mugs and bowls in this color but there were no plates to go with them. I had to search for a bit but I found the perfect color match to make a complete dish set!!
